DESCRIPTION:Join us on a walk focused on the joy of birds. We will be out to the end of Magic Island, where we will likely see manu-o-ku, kolea and other shorebirds, as well as many different types of introduced songbirds. Depending on interest, we will cover:\n\nHow to use binoculars (bring your own if you can, we have a limited number to borrow)\nBasics of identification\nInformation about commonly found bird species\nHow to journal what we see — recording experiences using writing, drawing, and counting (bring your own journal or sketchbook and writing tool).\n\nNo prior experience necessary. For ages 12 and up. Babies and young children in strollers or carriers are also welcome.\nEmail events@hiaudubon.org ( mailto:events@hiaudubon.org ) to sign up.\nWe will meet on the Waikiki (east) end of the park, across the street from the magic island parking lot, near the bathrooms.\nNote: The King’s Runner 10K race is happening that morning, so be prepared for road closures. We are meeting on the opposite end of the route, (see map).\nMeet at the red star.\n
