DESCRIPTION:Hawaii’s birds from the Mountains to the Sea\nA wildlife artist perspective by Patrick Ching, NOAA Artist in Residence.    \nView photos and paintings of rare forest birds ,including some that have gone extinct in recent years. Get to know the Hawaiian waterbirds that inhabited wetlands like those in Waikīkī before it became a city. Learn about seabirds that inhabit the atolls of Papahānaumokuākea as well as some areas of the main Hawaiian Islands.\nPatrick Ching art prints and books will be available for purchase and autographing at the event.\nHawaiʻi Audubon Society members will also be at the event, selling books and memberships.\n*Reservations required. Call the restaurant at 808-923-4852, and say that it is for the Malama ʻāina event in March. \n20% discount off of food and drinks plus free parking for Hawaii Audubon Society members and kamaʻaina (with local Hawaii ID). \nPatrick Ching volunteered for many years with several wildlife organizations before becoming a wildlife ranger for the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service. He worked and lived at the Kīlauea Point National Wildlife Refuge on Kaua’i and also the remote northwest Hawaiian atolls now known as Papahānaumokuākea. Patrick is now the official Artist in Residence for NOAA and the host of the Painting in Paradise tv show on Spectrum oc16.\n\n
