E Ola Kākou 2025 (Oʻahu)

E Ola Kākou is a gathering of HIDOE staff and community organizations to share and celebrate diverse moʻolelo of health, resilience, and well-being. This Health Education symposium offers a unique opportunity to reimagine Health Education grounded in HĀ and reflect on the practices we want to sustain and nourish for a healthful and thriving Hawaiʻi for all. E ola kākou!

The theme for this school year’s E Ola Kākou is “Weaving Traditional Practices Back Into Health Education.” The visual theme highlights native and Polynesian-introduced trees.

Symposium sessions support:

  • Integrating ʻāina-based education
  • Partnering with family & community
  • Strengthening student agency
  • Sustaining cultures & languages
  • Uplifting names, gifts, & stories

Participants will:

  • share moʻolelo (stories) of health, resilience, and well-being that lead to a healthful and thriving Hawaiʻi;
  • experience and learn about strategies and resources to support skills-based Health Education through a lens of HĀ;
  • consider ways that Health Education can contribute to conditions for thriving in their schools and communities; and
  • connect with other educators and health-supporting organizations.

Join Hawaiʻi Audubon Society’s booth as we share the joy of birds and learn about our educational programs, volunteer opportunities, bird tours, and more. Expect a special visit from our mascots, Kōlea Nui and Aloha Kea!
