Mālama Hāmākua for the ʻAlae ʻUla (Oʻahu) Volunteer Day

We are partnering with Pacific Birds Habitat Joint Venture and Healthy Climate Communities for a campaign to highlight the ʻalae ʻula or Hawaiian Gallinule, an endangered waterbird unique to Hawaiʻi. There are only around 700 left in the world (on Oʻahu and Kauaʻi). Join us for a volunteer day at Hāmākua Marsh to protect and celebrate the ʻalae ʻula! We will have partner booths to share about their inspiring work and a special ʻalae ʻula oli, as well as a bird tour through the marsh led by Susan Scott.

Join us in restoring Hāmākua Marsh’s watershed and supporting a healthy home for the ‘alae ‘ula!
