Kalaeokaunaʻoa (Kahuku Point) Workday with Albatross Tour (Oʻahu)
Kalaeokaunaʻoa, also known as Kahuku Point, is the northernmost point of Oʻahu and is significant both culturally and ecologically. Join North Shore Community Land Trust for their community workdays to mālama this special place on the second Saturday of each month. Be rewarded with a very special bird tour of the Albatross nesting sites in the area.
Meeting point: the Kahuku side of the Turtle Bay Resort parking lot, near the Paradise Helicopters helipad Date: every second Saturday of each month Time: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
A guide will lead volunteers on a coastal hike of about one mile to Kalaeokaunaʻoa (~20minutes). Restoration activities include invasive species removal, native out-planting, and other dune restoration activities for a variety of ages and skill levels.
